| South Downs Fighter Practice - July 2006 | Introduction to the Youth Tournament Heraldry Program. |
| RUM - June 2006 | Beyond the Soeltie: Garnished, Fringed, Dressed and Flourished. Class attendance was not what I might have hoped - but the students I did have seemed very interested and were the most knowledgeable I have taught to date. |
| Gulf Wars - March 2006 Fyne Arts & Lysiure Tent | For my paticipation in Artisan's Row I taught hands on classes in European Paper Box Folding (Oragami) three seperate times, and to anyone who desired to learn when I was manning the Tent. Grand total I believe I taught about 25 people how to make the boxes. I have two seperate handouts one for the full 1 hour class (here.pdf) and one that is a simplified handout only 2 pages long for the drive by students which you can see (here.pdf). |
| Gulf Wars - March 2006 | A Feast for 12th Century Norman Sicily. This class is based upon the reasearch that I did for Their Majesties Boru & Deidre in the Fall of 2005. It was very well attended (about 15 people) and several students took extra copies of the handout for friends. Class (handout.pdf) |
| Gulf Wars - March 2006 | Beyond the Soeltie: Garnished, Fringed, Dressed and Flourished. For this class I had about 6 people, one of which had attended the previous class at Glynn Rhe. I felt like the class went smoother and the student commented that she felt it went better also. Yay! |
| Glynn Rhe Convivium Collegialis on Culinary Arts - February 2006 | Beyond the Soeltie: Garnished, Fringed, Dressed and Flourished. A class on period Garnishing techniques as reflected in period culinary manuscripts. About 15 students attended and seemed very interested. For more information on the project see (here) and here is the class (handout.pdf) |
| An Dun Theine Winter Collegium - February 2006 | Finishing Techniques in Illumination - the A&S organizer wanted a "next level" illumination class so this was the first time I taught this class. My goal was to cover shading with Acanthus Leaves, WhiteWork and Diapering. It turns out this was a little ambitious for a one hour class, but I believe all 6 students had a better grasp on shading after the class. And they had been introduced to the other concepts. Next time I teach this class I will need either more time, or I will break it out into several classes. (handout.pdf) (practice sheet) |
| Canton des Forges Diverse Pleasures - January 2006 | Beginning Illumination - the scheduler of the event was kind enough to provide me with two class blocks so that I had a little over 2 full hours to teach the class to about 11 students including one child. Since I had already taught this class to this group I made a new practice sheet to keep things interesting. (practice sheet) |
| Tal Mere A&S Night - December | Tips for Planning and Cooking a Successful SCA Feast. The class was fun and I believe even the more experienced members of the class learned at least a few new tricks. There were 12 students in attendance and a great deal of notetaking. (handout.pdf) |
| Sol Haven's Festival of the Laurels - Oct 2005 | Introduction to Entering Arts & Sciences Faires. The class went well and about 6 students attended. I believe that the goal of making the concept of entering less scary was accomplished. (handout.pdf) |
| South Down's Class Night - July 2005 | Gardening 101. The same class as was taught at the Owl's Nest Collegium. For this evening I had eight students! Yay! |
| Owl's Nest Newcomers Collegium - March 2005 | Gardening 101. I had only one student, but she was very interested in the subject and we were able to have a fairly indepth discussion regarding plans that she would like to make for her new property. And I have enought handouts to teach this class again at a moment's notice. New handouts I developed for this class include a comparison of plant listing in different period treatises (look here). And research into period maps that show gardeing plots (look here). |
| Owl's Nest Newcomers Collegium - March 2005 | Basic Heraldry, attended by about 5 students. The class was outdoors and the stiff breeze presented some difficulties with the visual aide, but it made the class even more interactive than usual |
| South Downs A&S Class - January 2005 | Once again the Beginning Illumination class. I had around 10 participants and fun and learning was had by all. |
| Canton des Forges A&S Class - January 2005 | Beginning Illumination - this time I had two hours so the students had more time to work on things and ask questions. Attendance was over 20 people with around 18 active participants. |
| Demo for the Decatur Library - October 2004 | Introduction to Medieval and Rennisance Illuminated Manuscripts. This was a Power Point Presentation with tons of pretty pictures over which I lectured regarding the basic history of manuscript painting. |
| Tal Mere A&S Class - September 2004 | Beginning Illumination - seems to be pretty popular! Hands on as always. Attended by about 10 good gentles and one kitten. |
| Marion Glen A&S Class - August 29 2004 | Beginning Illumination and Master Scrolls with hints of Protocol & Precedence and Heraldry. I spent the day with about 8 - 9 members of Marion Glen and surrounding groups teaching and discussing the basics of Illumination and in the process touched on the other areas. |
| Owl's Nest Newcomers Collegium - June 2004 | Basic Heraldry, attended by about 10 students. As usual, this class was a great deal of fun and there was a good bit of laughing going on. I think that has to do with my visual demonstrations of the various heraldic positions for beasties. |
| Owl's Nest Newcomers Collegium - June 2004 | Beginning Illumination and Master Scrolls - a combo of the two classes taught at An Dun Theine. I had 8 or 9 students and all but 1 were brand new. I could have used more than an hour. |
| Barony of Bryn Madoc - A&S Night May 25, 2004 | Beginning Illumination - the same class developed for the An Dun Theine Collegium. Hands on and lots of fun. We had approximately 15 - 20 gentles in attendance. |

| An Dun Theine Winter Collegium - March 2004 | Beginning Illumination - An expansion on my basic Illumination workshops with handouts appropriate for a collegium event. (Handout.pdf) Color examples of (Acanthus Leaves.pdf) (Vinework.pdf) (Diapering.pdf) |
