My Scroll(s) are finished! What now?
Painted scrolls do not return to the Parchment Pursuivant, they go directly to the Crown. This serves two very important purposes. One, the quicker the scroll gets to the Crown the faster it will be awarded to a deserving recipient and find a good home. Two, by sending or presenting the completed scrolls yourself you will receive the much deserved recognition for the great service that you have done for the Kingdom. This is the same reason it is so important that you sign the back of your scroll.
The best way to accomplish these ends is to give them to Crown at an event. If you are unable to go to an event on the Royal Progress within a reasonable time after you have completed your scrolls I encourage you to speak with friends that may be traveling to said event. People are usually happy to deliver packages for you.
If neither of these options are feasible then the scrolls can be mailed to the Crown. You can find the address of the current Crown in any copy of Popular Chivalry. If it is very close to Coronation weekend you might want to consider waiting a short time or sending them directly to their Highnesses.
It is necessary to pack the painted scrolls very carefully; if a scroll is bent or folded the paint will crack and flake. Ship the scrolls in a large, well padded envelope and add a stiff piece of cardboard or chipboard to prevent folding. It is also a good idea to cover the face of the topmost scroll with another piece of paper to prevent scratching. Make sure to write DO NOT BEND and FRAGILE on the outside of the package.
Whichever method of delivery you chose, know that the time and effort that you have put into your scrolls will be self evident to the Crown and the Recipient. Think of the times that you have received scrolls and know that you will be making someone else just as happy.
