On Embellishment
Many of the Kingdom Scrolls have a substantial amount of blank space intentionally left there to encourage embellishement on the part of the Scribe. I often council good gentles to increase the amount of embellishment that they do as a way of expanding their Scribal talents. It seems that simply using the term "embellishment" can lead to a bit of a confusion, so I thought I would add some information on the concept.
Embellishment can be as simple as adding diapering in the box around a large initial letter or as elaborate as adding your own box and then diapering within. Look to period examples for inspiration on embellishment or check back here for examples of what has been done by your fellow Meridian Scribes
