The Meridian Scribe's Handbook
To your left you will find links to the updated Meridian Scribe's Handbook. It reflects many changes in Kingdom Law that have occurred since the last revision.
There are many other useful sections in the handbook including; painting Master Scrolls, creating Original Scrolls, a guide to Sumptuary laws and suggested Scroll Wordings.
Also included are extensive bibliographic references for the novice and advanced scribe alike. Included are calligraphy books, illumination books, facsimiles and mail order sources.
If you come across anything that you feel would be a good addition to the Scribes Handbook, either in content or Bibliography, please send it to the Parchment Pursuivant for inclusion. The hope is that this Handbook will continue to grow and improve as it has in the past.
Feel free to print out the Handbook if it would be easier for you to utilize. It is a tool for all to improve their skills as scribes.
I have added a link to the Middle Kingdom's Scribal Handbook because it is an exceptional resource. It has a great deal of information on technique including examplars for multiple different calligraphic hands. It was written by Randy Asplund known as Ran ulfr Asparlundr, OL, KSCA. If you would like to further explore his website it can be found here.
