As with all aspects of the SCA, you can participate in the Scribal Arts at many different levels. From beginner to the experienced. All are welcomed to scribe and or paint! For the beginner painter, there are simple scrolls that always need to be painted. For the experienced painter, there are Master Scrolls that always need to be painted. If you are looking to take the next step, Original Scrolls are always greatly appreciated and very much welcomed. New Master Scrolls are always appreciated and welcomed, if you would like to create one, please contact Parchment to find where the greatest need is. And for the experienced artist, there are always commissioned scrolls that need to be produced.
Yours in Service, Lady Cristine Elspeth Ross, Parchment Pursuivant
The contents of the pages within represent the ongoing efforts and contributions of decades of scribes in Meridies. Previous versions were written and revised by Mistress Jennet of Tewkesbury, Lady Finnegan Reid Paget and Mistress Katherine Radford of Dreywick.

In these editions credit is given with the statement that information has been collected from Meridies' Kingdom Law, The Herald's Handbook, The Manual of Styles for Scribes, and from the several works of Baron William fitz John and Master Johannes the Black. Further credit is given as many thanks to Lord Eryk Thurmansson formerly of the Great Shire of Seleone for putting together this guideline and for giving his time & effort to this project. Also thanked is Mistress Marthe Elsbeth of Oak Hill, the editor of the Manual of Styles for Scribes. Much of the information from the Manual was included in the Guidelines. The Manual was a tremendous help for the Meridian Scribe.
